What is Oro’s Sacrifice in PoE2?
Oro’s Sacrifice is a new sword being introduced alongside the Duelist, Mark Roberts said in the Scourge Walker segment. It is built around fire damage instead of physical: Roberts stated it grants a ton of fire damage at the expense of your physical damage and grants a new skill called Infernal Step. The same build uses the sword as the core of a fire Cyclone loop with other uniques; see Scourge Walker build for the full rotation.

What is Infernal Step?
Roberts called Infernal Step pretty fun and pretty epic: you use it as you flicker around, burning enemies as you strike them. It is the skill the unique grants; Roberts did not walk through mana cost, cooldown, or gem level on mic.
Roberts did not read Infernal Step’s tooltip stats on mic; the segment only shows flicker movement, burning strikes, and the Sacrificial Flame stack loop he described.

How does Sacrificial Flame work?
Roberts warned there are both upsides and downsides to using Infernal Step consecutively:
- Each use gains you a stack of Sacrificial Flame.
- Using Infernal Step while you have Sacrificial Flame causes you to take fire damage, and the more you have, the more you take.
- Oro’s Sacrifice also grants you frenzy charges while at maximum Sacrificial Flame.
That frenzy hook is what lets the demo fold Bloodied Blade into the rotation between Cyclone sessions to get blood-enhanced Cyclone: Roberts’ basic rotation is Infernal Step a few times, then Bloodied Blade once a Frenzy Charge is ready to enter Blood Stance, then Cyclone away.
For stance behaviour after Bloodied Blade, see Duelist stances guide. For Cyclone picking up blood pools and other ground effects, see Duelist Cyclone guide.

How does the Scourge Walker build use the sword?
Scourge Walker is Cyclone with a twist built around pure fire damage from Oro’s Sacrifice, while still enabling bleed through other uniques Roberts named (for example Blistering Bond letting fire damage scale bleeding). The showcase adds fire supports and flesh explosions on Cyclone, then swaps to a one-hand sword and targe weapon set with Parry for single target—separate from the two-hand Oro’s Sacrifice set.
Roberts mitigated fire damage taken from stacked Infernal Step with more uniques and armour, because the self-fire risk rises with Sacrificial Flame stacks. That mitigation list is build-specific; the sword’s core rules are the fire-for-physical trade, Infernal Step, stacking Sacrificial Flame, self-fire while stacked, and frenzy at maximum stacks.
